LeEco Le 2 getting EUI 5.8 OTA update: fixes camera, adds App lock using fingerprint

LeEco Le 2 was launched weeks back and first sale of the smartphone in India happened just last week, yet the company is already rolling out a major OTA update to its Le 2 smartphone, fixing many issues including camera and adding new features such as App Lock using the fingerprint sensor. Le 2 runs on LeEco EUI 5.6 at the moment and the OTA update brings the EUI 5.8 to the device. The change-log of the update is huge and brings many bug fixes including some new features.

The OTA update bring EUI 5.8.015S which is a stable release and comes with a file size of 471.2 MB. As the file size is quite big, users should avoid using cellular data connection to download and instead use a WiFi connection. The update brings fixes related to Launcher, Dual SIM Mobile network, Gallery issues, Music Player, Leclould, camera and much more. The change-log of the update is reproduced below.

The update adds App Lock feature to the fingerprint sensor. At the moment using the Fingerprint sensor, you can only unlock the smartphone and take a snap using the camera. With this addition, you can even lock / unlock individual apps using your fingerprint.

It also fixes Camera issues such as “photo can not be taken when temperature is high”,  “camera crushes after system reboot” and “4K video can not be saved if used for long time”.

The update is already rolling out and must reach every Le 2 user sooner or later.
