LeEco has officially launched the successor to the popular budget phone, the Le 1S, in India. In case you missed it, the LeEco Le 2, had made its debut in April in China.
The Le 2 sports a 5.5-inch 1080p Full HD display, and runs on LeEco’s EUI 5.5 based on Android 6.0 Marshmallow. The device has 32GB of internal storage with no expandable memory. LeEco surprised us today, by not launching the phone with MediaTek Helio X20 processor. Instead, the Indian variant of the Le 2 is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 652 processor (with ARM Cortex A72 and A53 cores), making it the first Indian phone to come with the SoC, which it touts as more powerful than the Snapdragon 808.
In the photography department, the LeEco Le 2 features a 16 megapixel rear camera with Dual LED flash, while the selfie lens is an 8 megapixel front camera. And just like its predecessor, the Le 2 also comes with a rear facing fingerprint scanner and a USB Type-C port.
The Le 2 is a bit unique in that it does not come with your regular headphone port, aka the 3.5mm audio jack (H-Fi Analog). Instead, it uses the same USB Type C port with the company’s CDLA (Continual Digital Lossless Audio) technology.
The phone packs a 3,000 mAh battery with fast charging, and supports 4G LTE (all Indian Bands), Bluetooth, WiFi, GPS connectivity.
