Infocus M810 will not get Android 5.1 Lollipop or 6.0 Marshmallow update

Infocus M810 was launched by Infocus in India in July 2015 for a price of Rs 14,999 on Amazon India. When launched, Infocus M810 ran on Android 5.0 Lollipop operating system with the company own InLife UI on top. It’s almost one year and customers have waited to hear some good news that they will be getting the at least Android 5.1.1 Lollipop OTA update if not the Android 6.0 Marshmallow OTA update, sooner or later.

But it seems that Infocus has no plans for providing an Android 5.1.1 Lollipop update to M810 users. This is clarified on the company’s official Facebook page in response to a user asking for Android 5.1.1 Lollipop update for M810 . Checkout the screenshot below which reproduces the conversation.

The statement clearly says this:

thank you for reaching out. Unfortunately, the update will not be available for M810

Even though the company responded about “No OTA update to Android 5.1.1 Lollipop”, we can safely assume that their will be no upgrade to even the next version of Android i.e. Android 6.0 Marshmallow.

That is indeed sad for users who own M810 smartphone and expected at least to get Android 5.1.1 Lollipop update if not the Marshmallow update. M810 is not the first smartphone from the company that will not get any update after the launch. Before M810 some of the smartphones that were denied updates are M2, M530, M350 and M330.
