Xiaomi has opened beta test recruitment for HyperOS 4 in the Global and EEA markets, and the phones that can join right now are exactly three: the Xiaomi 17 Ultra, the Leica Leitzphone by Xiaomi, and the Xiaomi 17. If your handset is not one of those models, you are not in this first wave.

If Xiaomi accepts you, the HyperOS 4 beta arrives over the air. The company has not stated any India-specific rollout timing, so there is no separate Indian date to wait on — only the Global and EEA recruitment that is open now for those three phones.
Which Xiaomi phones can join the HyperOS 4 beta
The eligible list, right now, is limited to:
- Xiaomi 17 Ultra
- Leica Leitzphone by Xiaomi
- Xiaomi 17
On 17 September, recruitment expands to four more phones: the Xiaomi 17T, Xiaomi 17T Pro, Xiaomi 15, and Xiaomi 15 Ultra. Until that date, those four cannot join. After it, they can apply through the same Community-app path as the first three.
How to join the HyperOS 4 beta
Recruitment runs inside the Xiaomi Community app. The steps Xiaomi is using are:
- Open the Xiaomi Community app.
- Tap Me, then Beta testing, then Recruiting test.
- Fill out the questionnaire.
Xiaomi says that for certain beta versions, Xiaomi Account verification may be required. Filling in the form does not guarantee a place. The HyperOS 4 beta only lands on the phone if you are accepted, and then it is delivered over the air.
The catch is on the way back. If you ever want to return to the stable version of HyperOS 3, you can only do so by flashing the firmware manually. That is not an over-the-air undo. Beta software can have bugs and issues and is not recommended for a daily driver, so treat this as a test build, not a free upgrade. Every other Xiaomi phone is not on the list: only the Xiaomi 17 Ultra, Leica Leitzphone by Xiaomi, and Xiaomi 17 can apply now, with the Xiaomi 17T, Xiaomi 17T Pro, Xiaomi 15, and Xiaomi 15 Ultra added to recruitment on 17 September.
