HTC could be heading the wrong way, according to some news revealed by a leakster.
The company is reportedly planning to monetize in a very unethical way: by placing ads on your homescreen.
Upleaks has even released screenshots showing HTC Sense 7 Home and the company’s goals.
- Generate revenues with sponsored apps.
- HTC Auto Promotions to Drive Sales.
The first goal and the screenshots suggest that HTC will display ads in Blinkfeed, to download apps from Google Play, in exchange for revenue. The second goal is to promote the sales of HTC’s own products, accessories and services.
Apparently, the HTC Sense Home Ver.7.1, which was released on 6th May, already has an AD framework in place.
There is no official confirmation on this yet, but it looks like something that no user would welcome.
