Just two days back, we reported that two new smartphone models from Gionee i.e. Gionee S9 and Gionee S9T got certified on Chinese certification agency TENAA revealing most of the technical specifications of the device along with images of the device and presence of a dual camera setup. The TENAA certification was followed by an Antutu Benchmark listing confirming some of the specifications and make of SOC chip. All this indicated an imminent public launch of the device by the company and we  were not wrong.


Gionee has officially announced a launch date for upcoming S9. The company has scheduled a launch event on 15th November 2017 for launching the Gionee S9. The official announcement comes from the company official Weibo account in the form of a teaser which reveals the launch date of the device along with dual camera on the upcoming device. The teaser clearly shows the back panel of the device along with the dual camera setup and the Gionee logo below it.

As per TENAA listing, Gionee S9 sports a 5.5 inch full HD 1080p display, powered by 1.8 GHz / 2.0 GHz Octa-core processor with 4 GB of RAM. and 64 GB of internal storage with expandable storage support via microsd card. It runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow based operating system. In terms of camera, it features a main dual camera setup with two camera sensors of 13 MP + 5 MP & front shooter of 13 MP for selfies and is backed by a battery of 3,000 mAh.
