Gionee has been teasing upcoming Gionee M7 bezel less smartphone through its social media channels without specifying the launch date. Today the company has revealed the official launch date of next device in M series i.e. Gionee M7 Power. As per the launch teaser, Gionee M7 power will be officially unveiled on September 28 at an event in Thailand (i.e. outside of China). The new teasers also reveal a clear picture of the front display and it looks like one of the other full view or infinite display devices such as Galaxy S8/S8+ or Note 8 or LG G6. The teasers also show the landscape images probably shot by the device itself, which is rumoured as a dual camera module.

Gionee M7 Full-screen phone with Dual camera teased officially, coming soon

The race to announce a full-screen phone has slowly started. After Samsung Galaxy S8/S8+, Note 8, LG G6 and few other devices, every brand is working to unveil a full-screen smartphone. Vivo is set to announce a “Full View” Vivo V7+ next week, while Gionee appears to be the next brand to offer a full-screen smartphone Gionee M7.

The company has officially teased a promotional poster of upcoming Gionee M7 which shows the device with no bezels at sides while very thin bezels at the top & bottom just like the other full-screen devices. The teaser talks about collaboration with bicycle company Ofo for “doing things” and comes with a tagline of  “M7 Joint card invites you to see the world in full screen”, clearly indicating that the phone is designed with full-screen as confirmed by the phone image in the teaser too.

THe promotional poster comes through official Gionee Weibo handle and also shows two wheels on the Ofo bike in tandem indicating a “Dual camera” module apart from the full-screen display on the phone. Thanks to this official teaser, we expect that Gionee M7 may be released this month i.e. September only. Vivo has already started teasing the upcoming Vivo X20 in China which is another full-screen smartphone apart from the Vivo V7+ scheduled for the next week unveiling in India.

Gionee M& has already surfaced on benchmarking portal revealing some key hardware specifications. Based on the benchmark listing, Gionee M7 (Plus) sports a 6.0-inch display with a resolution of 2160 x 1080 pixels and is powered by an octa-core MediaTek MT6758 processor clocked at 2.3 GHz along with Mali G71 GPU and 6 GB of RAM. MediaTek MT6758 processor may be the upcoming MediaTek Helio P23 SOC chip. The phone comes with 64 GB of internal storage and runs on Android 7.1.1 Nougat based operating system.

In terms of camera, Gionee M7 (Plus) comes with 16 MP main rear camera with support for 4K (UHD) video recording while on the front, it features a 8 MP front shooter for selfies. It includes sensors such as NFC, Proximity Sensor etc. The listing doesn’t reveal details such as battery capacity.
