Galaxy Z Fold 8: Samsung Cuts $250 Off Every Storage Tier

Samsung is now selling the Galaxy Z Fold 8 for $250 less directly on its own US store, dropping the entry 256GB model to $1,649.99. The discount applies across all three storage tiers, and it’s the first time the foldable’s base configuration has been cut on Samsung.com itself rather than through a third-party retailer.

Galaxy Z Fold 8 Pricing and Availability

Samsung’s buy page for the Galaxy Z Fold 8 now lists every configuration $250 below its launch MSRP:

  • 256GB: $1,649.99, down from $1,899.99
  • 512GB: $1,849.99, down from $2,099.99
  • 1TB: $2,249.99, down from $2,499.99

The cut is visible directly in Samsung’s own storefront pricing data, not just a checkout coupon. That’s a shift from earlier this month, when the Galaxy Z Fold 8 was still listed at full price on Samsung.com while only Amazon ran a matching $250-off deal on the same device. Now the discount is standard on Samsung’s own site, available to any US buyer regardless of retailer.

Droid Life has also reported that Samsung’s trade-in program can push savings further, with a Galaxy S26 Ultra trade-in reportedly qualifying for up to $800 off. Samsung hasn’t published exact trade-in values for every device, so treat that ceiling as retailer-reported rather than a fixed number every trade-in will hit.

Specifications

  • Display: Foldable inner AMOLED plus a cover display, 120Hz refresh rate
  • Chipset: Samsung’s custom processor for the Fold 8 line
  • Cameras: Dual 50MP rear system
  • Battery: 4,800mAh
  • Storage options: 256GB, 512GB, 1TB

A $250 price cut a little over two months after launch is a fast drop for a flagship foldable, and it says as much about Samsung wanting to move Fold 8 units as it does about any generosity toward buyers. If you were waiting to see the price settle before committing to a $1,900 phone, this is the first sign it’s moving in your direction — just don’t expect Samsung to advertise it as a “sale,” since the buy page shows the new prices with no discount banner explaining why they dropped.
