Galaxy S26 Price Hike in India: Samsung’s Own Site Still Shows Old Rates

Multiple India outlets reported this week that Samsung raised Galaxy S26 series prices in India. The change was supposedly effective September 20. But as of 8:18 PM IST tonight, that hasn’t shown up on Samsung’s own official buy page. The Galaxy S26 still lists the same prices it did before the reported hike.

The Galaxy S26 (12GB/256GB) is listed at ₹87,999, discounted to ₹79,999, on Samsung’s India store right now. The 12GB/512GB variant shows ₹1,07,999, discounted to ₹99,999. The Galaxy S26 Ultra’s buy page shows ₹1,39,999 for the 256GB model and ₹1,59,999 for the 512GB model. None of these figures have moved. They match the exact numbers Samsung’s site showed at 12:03 PM IST today. They also line up with the pre-hike prices cited by the outlets that reported the increase.

What the reports actually claimed

India TV News reported on September 17 that Samsung would raise Galaxy S26 prices by ₹12,000. The hike would apply across both storage variants, effective September 20, pushing the base model past the ₹1 lakh mark. Gizbot published a nearly identical figure the same day. My Mobile India ran the same ₹12,000, September 20 version that day too.

Then, on September 18, My Mobile India published a second, contradictory story. This one claimed a flat ₹20,000 hike across the S26, S26+, and S26 Ultra, effective September 18. It was sourced to a leaked Samsung pricing document credited to a tipster on X. That version puts the S26’s 512GB model at ₹1,27,999, a full ₹8,000 higher than the same outlet’s own ₹12,000 story published just one day earlier.

India TV’s report put it plainly: “These new prices kick in from September 20.” That date has passed. Samsung’s own storefront shows no visible change.

What this means if you’re buying

If you’ve held off a Galaxy S26 purchase over hike warnings, the prices Samsung is charging right now are still the older, lower ones. A delayed rollout, a staggered retail-channel hike, or an internal pricing document that hasn’t reached the storefront yet could all explain the mismatch. Samsung has not issued any public statement confirming or denying a price change as of this writing.

What is clear: the two most-cited hike figures can’t both be right, and neither is currently reflected in Samsung India’s own pricing. Anyone shopping for a Galaxy S26 today should check Samsung’s live buy page directly. Don’t rely on any single report’s rupee figure, including this one.
