Samsung has officially confirmed the Galaxy Buds On, its first clip-on earbuds, with a Korea launch on October 27 priced at KRW 299,000 (about $220). Only one model is coming at launch, in black.

The Galaxy Buds On clip onto the ear rather than sealing the canal. Samsung positions them as a situational second option alongside its in-ear Galaxy Buds, with open-ear awareness outdoors and the sealed models still handling deep listening. androidpure covered these earbuds as a leak in September. Samsung’s own release now fills in the price, the date and the feature list.
Galaxy Buds On Pricing and Availability
The Galaxy Buds On go on sale in South Korea on October 27, 2026 at KRW 299,000, which works out to roughly $220. The release lists no other colors. Samsung says full product details will be on Samsung.com from October 27.
Other markets come later. Samsung’s release only says the earbuds will launch sequentially in global markets thereafter, with no country list attached. Dates and prices for the United States, India and Europe remain unconfirmed as of October 1.
Design and Audio
Samsung says it analyzed ear-shape data and ran simulations to place the speaker and battery and to spread clamping pressure across the ear. Those are the company’s own claims, not independently tested results. Treat the comfort promise as a promise until reviews land.
Audio runs on a Qualcomm Snapdragon S7 Gen 1 Sound Platform with a Class-D amplifier. TwinBoost speakers add bass, which open-ear designs usually lack because nothing seals the ear canal. Volume adjusts automatically to the surrounding environment. Audio Leakage Reduction limits how much of your music the person next to you hears, Samsung says, citing libraries and cafes.
Samsung’s Korea Newsroom release quotes Kim Jung-hyun, Vice President and Head of the CX Office at the company’s MX Business Division. Translated from the Korean, the statement reads:
Galaxy Buds On is a form factor designed around consumers’ varied everyday use situations, and it will give users a comfortable everyday listening experience while staying naturally connected to their surroundings.
The release does not list Active Noise Cancellation among the features. That fits the form factor. A bud that clips on without sealing the ear has little to cancel against, so you are trading isolation for awareness.
Calls and Controls
There are three microphones plus a bone-conduction Voice Pickup unit that reads vibration rather than air. Samsung pairs that with Intelligent Clear Call, aimed at wind outdoors and noise indoors. Each bud has a touch area on the back for music and call control. Head Gestures let you nod or shake to answer or end a call, dismiss an alarm, or check a notification. Saying Hey Google, let’s talk live starts a Gemini Live session.
Buds On also does not need the Galaxy Wearable app. Volume and EQ can be changed from the phone’s settings and quick panel directly. Quick Voice Memo is the restricted one. A long press records a note that is then searchable through Bixby. Samsung’s Korean release notes the feature needs a Galaxy AI-capable phone. It also requires the Samsung Voice Recorder and Bixby apps, and has to be switched on in Settings. One of the headline tricks is therefore locked to Samsung’s own software stack.
