After rolling out Android 5.0 Lollipop OTA update to Zenfone 5, the company is now rolling out Android 5.0 Lollipop OTA update to Zenfone 6 also. Zenfone 6 variants to which this update is rolling are A500CG / A501CG models. ASUS after delaying the Lollipop update as promised last month, later said that the updates will be rolled out earlier than expected. It seems they are delivering on that promise.
The OTA update Version V3.23.40.52_20150522 (Android Lollipop) is approximately 700 MB in size. This update brings Lollipop to ASUS Zenfone 6 along with some new features and bug fixes. The upgrade though removes some pre-installed apps as listed below due to incompatibility issues.

- Google Text-To-Speech
- Movie Studio
- Cloud Print
- CMClient
- Magic Smoke Wallpapers
Some new apps and features are added with this upgrade such as SuperNote, Asus web storage, Remote Link, lockscreen etc. The full list of change-log and download details can be found here.

If you don’t want to wait for the OTA update to arrive, you can install it manually too. Just follow the guide here (even though the guide is for Zenfone 5, it should work for Zenfone 6 too. Just make sure that you download the OTA zip file for Zenfone 6).
