If you own either of ASUS ZenFone 4, 5, 6 or PadFone S and are waiting to get an OTA update to Android 5.0 Lollipop update as promised by ASUS in the mid of May then there is some bad news for you. ASUS has just announced that the  Android 5.0 Lollipop update for these devices is now delayed due to some issues found during verification.

ASUS Zenfone 5 back

ASUS gave no details on what these verification issues are and how much time they need to fix them. This delay also leads to some uncertainty about when the release will happen finally as they didn’t gave any time frame or ETA. Here is what they had said:

[themify_quote]We decided to delay the Android L upgrade schedule in order to provide better user experience. We are currently working on the related issues and will release the upgrade as soon as possible. [/themify_quote]

Aprt from this, the Lollipop update for  new Padfone Infinity (A86) is getting pushed back indefinitely. The reason cited by ASUS is “due to limitation of the processor”. They now promise only to provide upgrades based on Kitkat.

Here is the original statement:

[themify_quote]Also, due to limitation of the processor of The New Padfone Infinity (A86), we’ll postpone its Android L upgrade plan. However, ASUS will keep providing software upgrade based on Android 4.4 KitKat operating system.[/themify_quote]
