Google has released Android 17 QPR2 Beta 2, the second preview build of the Q4 2026 Pixel Feature Drop, for enrolled Pixel testers. The update arrived on August 3 without a changelog, continuing the pattern of this cycle’s incremental refinement ahead of a planned stable release in December 2026.
QPR2 Beta 2 carries build number CP41.260701.006, a security patch level of 2026-07-05, and Google Play services version 26.23.34. Google has not published any specific bug fixes or feature additions for this build — the official release notes simply list the build details and point testers to the enrollment page.
Which Pixel Phones Get Android 17 QPR2 Beta 2
The update is available on Pixel 6a through the entire Pixel 10 series, including the Pixel 10a. That covers a broad range of devices across four generations:
- Pixel 6a
- Pixel 7, Pixel 7 Pro, Pixel 7a
- Pixel 8, Pixel 8 Pro, Pixel 8a
- Pixel 9, Pixel 9 Pro, Pixel 9 Pro XL, Pixel 9 Pro Fold, Pixel 9a
- Pixel 10, Pixel 10 Pro, Pixel 10 Pro XL, Pixel 10 Pro Fold, Pixel 10a
Notably absent: the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro. Google confirmed their end-of-life status in July, and since QPR2 will go stable outside their supported update window, these two devices were dropped starting with QPR2 Beta 1. If you own a Pixel 6 or 6 Pro, Android 17 QPR1 is your terminal branch — the September 2026 stable release of QPR1 will be their last update.
Two Small Changes Spotted So Far
While Google skipped the changelog, early testers have noticed a couple of cosmetic changes. The internal codename has shifted from “CinnamonBun” to “DEV,” and there is a refreshed Settings app icon — though some users had already glimpsed the new icon during the QPR1 beta cycle.
How to Get It
The easiest route is through the Android Beta Program. Enrolled devices receive the update over the air. Google also offers downloadable OTA images and factory images for manual flashing.
A word of caution: if you enroll in the beta and later want out before the stable release, unenrolling wipes your device. Unless you have a specific reason to test, waiting for the December stable release is the safer path.
