Amazon Underground replaces Amazon Appstore’s Free App of the Day with free paid apps, games worth $10,000

The Amazon Appstore is doing away with the Free App of the Day, but fret not, it is actually being replaced with Amazon Underground.

This is the new freebie promo from the company, and the one which will literally make users smile.

Amazon Underground will be giving away $10,000 worth of apps, games and in-app items. The promo is not currently active, but teases giving away popular premium games such as:

  • Goat Simulator
  • Duck Tales Remastered
  • Frozen Free Fall
  • Star Wars Rebels: Recon Missions

Amazon Underground is terming these game giveaways as “Actually Free”.

How to download Amazon Underground:

  1. Visit from your Android Device, and enter your email address to get a download link for the app.
  2. Install the app, and login to your Amazon account (requires “Allow installation of apps from unknown sources from Settings)

Oddly enough, the Amazon Underground app requires the Amazon Appstore to be installed. And you can actually get the Underground app from its own app itself, yes I know it sounds crazy, but you can. After doing so, open the Amazon Appstore app, and sync your apps. You will see the Amazon Underground app listed under ‘My Apps’.

Note:If you don’t see the Underground Apps banner in the app, swipe from the left side of the screen, and change the Country to the U.S..
