Samsung’s stable One UI 9 update is rolling out in the US to the Galaxy A26, A27 and A54. It’s based on Android 17. Which version of the phone you own decides who gets it first. Factory-unlocked A26 and A27 units are first in line. For the A54, it’s the carrier-locked models.
SamMobile spotted the new builds on Samsung’s firmware servers. SammyGuru separately reported matching firmware for all three phones.
Which US Galaxy A phones are getting One UI 9 now
- Galaxy A26 (unlocked): firmware A266U1UEUADZJ5
- Galaxy A27 (unlocked): firmware A276U1UEU3BZIF
- Galaxy A54 (carrier-locked): firmware A546USQUNGZJ6
Still waiting
- Galaxy A26 and Galaxy A27 (carrier-locked): expected to follow, no date yet
- Galaxy A54 (unlocked): expected to follow, no date yet
Both outlets expect these variants to get the same update, but the timing is unconfirmed. The rollout is also phased, so an eligible phone may not see it right away.
Already updated in the US
These Galaxy A phones got One UI 9 in the US earlier, according to SammyGuru:
- Galaxy A1x: Galaxy A16
- Galaxy A3x: Galaxy A35, Galaxy A36, Galaxy A37
- Galaxy A5x: Galaxy A56, Galaxy A57
How the US rollout compares with Europe
US Galaxy A27 owners had a long wait. We reported the A27’s European rollout on October 19, more than two weeks ago. We also covered the Galaxy A26 getting stable One UI 9 after it was left out of the beta.
The Galaxy A54 gap was much shorter. We covered its European rollout on November 3. As that post noted, this is the A54’s last major Android update. If you’re unsure where your own Galaxy stands, see our list of phones and tablets expected to get One UI 9.
What’s new in One UI 9
SamMobile highlights a few changes you’ll notice first:
- More ways to customize the Quick Panel
- A location privacy indicator
- A new Warranty and care section in Settings
- Improvements to DeX, Notes and accessibility features
How to check for the update
- Open Settings.
- Tap Software update.
- Tap Check for updates.
If nothing shows up, the update hasn’t reached your unit yet. Samsung releases these in waves, so check again over the next few days.
