The Galaxy S27 series could launch in January, according to Korean tipster Lanzuk. He says the launch is planned for next January, or February at the latest. That would put it ahead of the Galaxy S26, which Samsung unveiled on February 25, 2026.
This is a rumor from a single tipster, posted on Lanzuk’s Naver blog under the handle yeux1122. He cites supply-chain sources. As of October 19, Samsung hadn’t announced a date, and the outlets carrying the claim trace it to his post.

Galaxy S27 launch timing: what the tipster says
Lanzuk says the major components for the Galaxy S27 have been finalised. Samsung has now moved on to managing the schedule, according to his post.
He also says the timing is weighing a changed launch schedule for another company’s product. He doesn’t name the company. SamMobile guesses it could be Apple’s base iPhone 18, but that is SamMobile’s own reading, not something Lanzuk wrote.
A January launch would return Samsung to its usual window
Samsung’s recent dates show why this matters. Two of the last three Galaxy S launches happened in January.
- Galaxy S24: announced January 17, 2024.
- Galaxy S25: announced January 22, 2025.
- Galaxy S26: announced February 25, 2026.
A January S27 would bring Samsung back to its earlier rhythm. February would roughly match the S26.
Memory is the open question for the Pro and Ultra
Not everything is locked, per Lanzuk. The storage and RAM configuration for the Pro and Ultra models is still being argued over. He expects it to be settled soon, with mass production to follow.
The key issue is how widely Samsung fits UFS 5.0 storage and LPDDR6 RAM. Both cost more than current parts. Samsung has already validated LPDDR6 for Qualcomm’s next Snapdragon flagship.
China’s ITHome adds that the base S27 and S27+ were planned with LPDDR5X and UFS 4.x. That detail is unconfirmed.
Why buyers should watch this
Higher memory costs are a reported pressure on Galaxy S27 pricing. An earlier leak pointed to a new Pro tier at $1,299. If Samsung keeps older memory on some models to save money, that would be a tradeoff worth knowing before you buy. For now, the tipster says that decision hasn’t been made.
Treat the January date as one tipster’s claim until Samsung sends out invites.
