Samsung has pushed the August 2026 security patch to a large batch of Galaxy phones across Europe on the final day of the month, with firmware now landing on the Galaxy A56, A57 and the entire S24, S25 and S26 lines. The rollout is live in the Netherlands, Belgium and the rest of Europe, according to Dutch Samsung site Galaxy Club, which logged the individual firmware builds as they appeared. The Galaxy S26 Ultra build is the one worth watching, because it reportedly carries a fix for the display colour problem owners have been complaining about since launch.
Which Galaxy phones are getting the August 2026 patch in Europe
These are the models confirmed as receiving the update, with the exact firmware build to look for in Settings:

Two things to be clear about. This list is built from sightings on real devices in Europe, not from a roster Samsung published. Your phone being absent from it does not mean it has been skipped. Equally, Samsung stages rollouts by region and carrier, so a European build appearing today says nothing firm about when the same patch reaches the US or India.
The other notable point is the pace. Samsung shipped the August patch to a handful of new foldables early in the month and then went quiet for weeks. Dropping the mainstream S-series and A-series on 31 August is a late finish for a monthly patch, and it leaves owners on July’s patch level for most of the month.
What the August 2026 patch fixes
Galaxy Club describes the payload as 38 improvements to the Android system itself, eight of them critical, plus around 18 Samsung-specific fixes. Those Samsung items cover the Contacts app, Galaxy Themes, Messages, the Phone app, the clipboard and the MPEG4 codec.
That matches what we reported from Samsung’s own SMR Aug-2026 Release 1 bulletin earlier in the month: eight critical and 30 high-severity Google patches, alongside 18 Samsung SVE items. Several of the Samsung fixes involve local or physical attackers reaching data across user profiles, which is exactly the class of bug worth installing promptly.
The Galaxy S26 Ultra display fix, and why to treat it carefully
The S26 Ultra carries a different firmware build from the S26 and S26+, and Galaxy Club reads that divergence as evidence the Ultra is getting something extra. Citing reports out of South Korea, it says the update includes a fix for the colour-reproduction issue on the Ultra’s display.
Worth being precise here: that is Galaxy Club’s inference from Korean reporting, not a statement from Samsung. Samsung has acknowledged the problem is software rather than a limitation of the privacy display hardware, but it has not published a changelog naming this build as the fix.
There is a further reason to go in with expectations set. We reported yesterday that some S26 Ultra owners are seeing dot-like marks on the screen after the colour recalibration. If you install this update and the red tint clears but something else appears in its place, you are not imagining it, and it is worth reporting to Samsung rather than assuming it is a panel defect.
How to check for the update
- Open Settings and tap Software update.
- Tap Download and install.
- After installing, confirm it under Settings > About phone > Software information. The build number should match the one listed above for your model.
