The Poco F9 series gets its global launch on September 1, 2026 at 20:00 GMT+8, according to a countdown page Poco has put up on its own site. That is 8am Eastern, 1pm UK time, and 5:30pm in India on the same day. The page carries the tagline “UltraPower Unbound” and a subscribe form, but no pricing and no spec sheet.
What Poco has actually confirmed about the Poco F9
Not much, deliberately — but the key visual on Poco’s homepage is more informative than the countdown text. It shows two distinct handsets rather than one: a white model with a squarish four-element camera island, and a red model with a much larger rounded island carrying four lenses plus a separate circular grille. Both islands are stamped with Bose branding, putting the long-rumoured Bose audio tie-in on Poco’s own artwork rather than leaving it to leaks.
The other confirmed detail is buried in the launch page’s small print, which states that the “Full-panel luminous design is exclusive to POCO F9 Pro Aurora Green variant” and clarifies that “full-panel” means the back cover only, not the camera deco. That is Poco naming the Poco F9 Pro as a model in the lineup, and confirming a glow-in-the-dark rear panel on one colourway. The same footnote warns that the luminous effect “may vary across different batches” — worth remembering before anyone buys a phone for its party trick.
What is still rumour
Everything below is unconfirmed. Poco has not published specifications, and the figures circulating come from earlier leaks reported by Gizmochina, which hedges every one of them.
- Lineup: Poco F9 Pro and Poco F9 Ultra, with no standard model — the same structure as the previous generation. Both are said to be rebadged versions of the Redmi K100 Pro and K100 Pro Max already on sale in China.
- Displays: a 6.59-inch QHD+ plastic OLED at 185Hz on the F9 Pro, and a larger 6.85-inch 2608×1200 panel on the F9 Ultra, both reportedly co-developed with TCL CSOT.
- Chipset: Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 on both, with up to 16GB of RAM and 512GB of storage.
- Batteries: 6,330mAh on the F9 Pro and 8,050mAh on the F9 Ultra, both with 100W wired charging and USB PD.
- Cameras: a 50MP main with OIS, an 8MP ultrawide and a 50MP 3x telephoto on the F9 Pro; the F9 Ultra is said to upgrade to a 50MP ultrawide and a 50MP 5x telephoto. 32MP selfie cameras and 8K video on both.
- Other: Bose-tuned speakers, IP69, metal frames, and an LED notification ring around the F9 Ultra’s camera module.
Pricing and availability
Poco has announced no prices. The leaked figures put the F9 Pro at around EUR 799 (roughly USD 920) for 12GB+256GB and the F9 Ultra at around EUR 999 (roughly USD 1,150) for 16GB+512GB. If those hold, this is a Poco F-series that has drifted a long way from the aggressive-value positioning the line was built on, and buyers should wait for the real numbers on September 1 rather than anchoring to a leak. Poco does not sell F-series phones in the US, so the relevant markets are Europe, India and Southeast Asia; India pricing typically lands separately and is usually well below the euro conversion.
