Gemini Adds 13 Connected Apps, From Otter.ai to Zocdoc

Google is adding 13 new Gemini connected apps, letting the assistant book a doctor’s appointment, reserve a table, summarise your meeting notes or start a radio station without leaving the chat. The list was announced on Google’s blog alongside the Made by Google hardware event, and the rollout runs “Over the next few weeks.”

Connected apps are Gemini’s version of account linking: you switch a service on, hand Gemini access to your account there, and it can then act on that service when you ask. That is a meaningfully different thing from Gemini answering a question, and it is the part of this announcement worth slowing down over.

The full list of new Gemini connected apps

Google groups the 13 additions into four buckets:

  • Productivity and creativity — Granola, Otter.ai and Wix, for summarising meetings and editing a website.
  • Local and entertainment — Fever, GetYourGuide, Localiza, OpenTable and Ticketmaster, for booking experiences, renting a car, reserving dinner and searching for event tickets.
  • Music — iHeartRadio and Pandora, for stations and playlists.
  • Home, health and lifestyle — Angi and Thumbtack for finding a tradesperson, and Zocdoc for booking a doctor’s appointment.

Two of those are narrower than the headline suggests. Google’s own post scopes OpenTable to the UK, and Localiza is a Brazilian car rental firm, so its usefulness is effectively regional. Everything else is bounded by wherever each service already operates. Google gave no country-by-country availability beyond the OpenTable note, and no date more precise than “a few weeks.”

What Google didn’t say about your data

Here is what the announcement covers in full: what the apps do. Here is what it does not mention anywhere: what happens to the data flowing between them and Gemini.

Look at the actual shape of these integrations. Otter.ai and Granola hold transcripts of your meetings. Zocdoc holds appointment history that reveals which specialists you see. Angi and Thumbtack know your home address and what work you’re having done. OpenTable knows where and with whom you eat. Turning these on is not the same class of decision as connecting a music app — it is granting an AI assistant a standing view of records you would otherwise think of as private.

Google’s post says none of this. It does not say what Gemini retains from a connected service, whether that content can surface in human review, how long it is kept, or how to revoke a connection cleanly. Those answers may exist in Gemini’s settings and policy pages, but they are not in the announcement a user reads before tapping the toggle — and the toggle is where the decision actually gets made.

By turning on your favorite services in Gemini, you can easily plan, create, and tackle your to-do list all in one place.

That framing, from Google’s post bylined Mai Lowe, Group Product Manager for the Gemini app, is the whole pitch: convenience. It is a real convenience. It is just not a free one, and the currency is visibility into parts of your life that were previously spread across a dozen unconnected accounts.

What to do when it reaches you

The practical advice is boring and worth following anyway: connect the services you will genuinely use through Gemini, not the ones that merely sound convenient. A music service is a low-stakes link. A health booking service is not. Each connection is individually optional, and there is no benefit to switching on the full list before you have a reason to.

Google says the rollout starts over the next few weeks. If you want the wider context on how quickly this assistant is being pushed into everything, see our earlier piece on Gemini passing a billion monthly users.
