Samsung has started rolling out a Quick Share update that adds the ability to share Samsung Wallet items — specifically tickets and boarding passes — directly with other Galaxy users. The update, spotted rolling out through the Galaxy Store in early August, turns what was previously a file-and-media sharing tool into something more useful for coordinating travel and events.
The use case is straightforward: if you have a boarding pass or event ticket stored in Samsung Wallet, you can now send it to a friend or family member through Quick Share instead of screenshotting it or forwarding an email. The recipient gets the actual wallet item, not just an image of it.
How to Get the Quick Share Update
The rollout is staged, so it may not be available on your device yet. To check manually:
- Open the Galaxy Store app
- Tap the three-dot menu in the top corner
- Select Updates
- Tap Update all
Samsung has not published a specific list of supported devices or regions, but the update is being distributed to Galaxy smartphones and tablets. The update also includes unspecified bug fixes alongside the Wallet sharing feature.
A Small but Practical Addition
This is a narrow feature addition rather than a major Quick Share overhaul, but it fills a genuine gap. Sharing wallet items between Samsung users has historically meant working around the system — forwarding the original email, screenshotting a QR code, or just holding your phone up for someone else to scan. None of those are great, especially at an airport gate or a venue entrance.
The limitation worth noting: this only works within Samsung’s ecosystem. Both sender and recipient need Samsung Wallet and a Galaxy device with Quick Share. There is no cross-platform equivalent for sharing wallet items to non-Samsung phones, and Samsung has not indicated whether one is planned.
