Samsung has confirmed that the fifth One UI 9.0 beta update for the Galaxy S26 series will arrive next week, ending an unusually long gap of over three weeks since Beta 4 landed.
A Beta Operations Manager posted the timeline on Samsung’s Community forum, noting that the development team has been focused on improving the stability and quality of Beta 5 before release. The update will be available for the Galaxy S26, Galaxy S26+, and Galaxy S26 Ultra.
Why the Delay Matters
The three-week-plus gap between Beta 4 and Beta 5 is notably longer than the cadence Samsung maintained for earlier builds. The manager acknowledged the delay and indicated that the extended development time was spent finalizing quality — a reasonable trade-off if it means fewer bugs in the build that likely precedes the stable release.
One UI 9.0 stable has already shipped on the Galaxy Z Flip 8 and Galaxy Z Fold 8 series, which launched with Android 17 out of the box. The Galaxy S26 lineup is expected to be the first existing device family to receive the stable update once the beta cycle wraps up.
Beta Program Expansion on the Horizon
Samsung also appears to be preparing to expand the One UI 9.0 beta program to additional high-end devices. According to SamMobile, the Galaxy S25 series (including the Galaxy S25 FE), Galaxy Z Flip 7, and Galaxy Z Fold 7 are next in line. Samsung has not confirmed timing for the expansion, and it remains unofficial for now.
Galaxy S26 series owners enrolled in the beta program should expect Beta 5 to arrive via the Samsung Members app sometime next week.
