What’s new in the OxygenOS 12 C.44 update for OnePlus 9 and 9 Pro

OnePlus says that it has optimized the system’s power consumption to extend the battery life. The charging animation display, fingerprint unlocking speed have also been improved. The icons on the home screen now have better textures, with a new design inspired by brand-new materials and uniting lights and layers.

The Android Security Patch has been updated to include the fixes from January. The update fixes a scrolling lag issue in the Notification Bar, and how the bar displays while gaming. The OTA brings a new Dark mode with three adjustable levels.

The Shelf in the OxygenOS 12 C.44 update adds new style options for cards for better visibility and readability. The notification bar has been fixed, and should display correctly. The Shelf has some new options such as the Earphone Control Card for adjusting Bluetooth earphones. The OnePlus Scout lets you search your device for content, and can pull up data from Apps, Settings, Media Data, etc. You may view your health status at a glance, using the new OnePlus Watch Card.

Work Life Balance is now available for all users in the OxygenOS 12 C.44 update, and can be accessed from the Quick Settings, to switch between the Work and Life modes. It also supports automatic mode switching based on specific locations, Wi-Fi network, and time. The notifications from apps can also be personalized for WLB 2.0.

Users can switch between different layouts in the Gallery app, using a two-finger pinch gesture. The new feature will automatically detect the best-quality images, and crop the thumbnails based on the content. The Canvas Always-on display adds new diverse styles of lines and colors for the lock screen. This includes new brushes, effects, color adjustment, while the software algorithm and face recognition have been optimized for skin tones.

The camera app’s startup speed has been optimized, it will also be more responsive while shooting videos. The image effect of the main camera has also been improved. The update fixes the problem that was preventing the OnePlus 9 from accessing 5G mobile networks.
