Huawei P40 with Kirin 990 5G, NavIC, 50MP triple cameras announced in China

Huawei has announced its 2020 flagship phone, the Huawei P40. The launch event was held via a live stream.

The phone sports a 6.1-inches OLED Full HD+ display, with dual punch-hole cameras in the top left corner. An in-display fingerprint scanner is embedded under the screen. The P40 runs on EMUI 10.1 based on Android 10, but without Google services. The selfie lenses comprise a 32 MP camera with an f/2.0 aperture and an IR Camera.

The Huawei P40 is powered by a Kirin 990 5G Octa-core processor, is assisted by a Mali-G76 GPU, and a Neural-network Processing Unit. The phone has 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. It is backed by a 3800 mAh battery that supports 22.5W Huawei SuperCharge via a USB Type-C 3.1 port.

In the main camera department, the Huawei P40 is equipped with triple cameras consisting of a 50MP Ultra Vision Camera with an f/1.9 aperture), a 16MP Ultra-Wide Angle camera  with an f/2.2 aperture, and an 8MP Telephoto Camera with an f/2.4 aperture that supports Optical Image stabilization and AIS. The device supports 5G, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth5.1, and India’s NavIC Global Positioning System among other options.

The Huawei P40 does not have a headphone jack. It is rated IP53 for splash, water, and dust resistance. The device will be available in 5 colours: Silver Frost, Blush Gold, Deep Sea Blue, Ice White, Black
