Samsung Galaxy A90 will come with Tilt OIS, Snapdragon 855

You may remember our article about the leaked Galaxy A90 tech specs, from back in April this year. Now, Onleaks has revealed something called Tilt OIS tech, which the device will use.

Samsung Galaxy A90 Tilt OIS

We don’t know for certain what that means.

Tilt OIS: What could it be?

This is how a regular OIS works, there are two gyroscopes in a camera’s lens which assist the camera in reducing shakes. You may have seen videos where the person using the phone keeps the camera at the same place/angle, but tilts the phone along the horizontal axis to produce a zoom effect.

If we were to venture a guess about the Tilt OIS, this tilt effect we just mentioned about, may now be assisted by the gyroscopes. The new tech may be useful to capture panorama shots or other capture modes where you need to keep the camera still, but rotate the device. This is pure speculation of course.

Other Galaxy A90 specs which were re-confirmed by Onleaks include a 6.7-inch display with an in-display fingerprint sensor, and triple rear cameras comprising of a 48MP primary sensor, an 8MP secondary sensor and a 5MP sensor. This is in line with the previous leak. The phone will support 5G mobile networks.

Tilt OIS isn’t the only thing that’s surprising about the Galaxy A90, the company has chosen to equip the phone with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 processor. So it is not only a proper flagship, but also happens to be the first Galaxy A series phone that isn’t powered by a Samsung Exynos chipset.

The Galaxy A90 will debut in two variants: SM-A908 and SM-A905, the former supports 5G, while the latter supports the Tilt OIS tech. We will update you with more details about the phone when we run into some new leaks, stay tuned to AndroidPure.
