We reported the alleged Oppo R9s images / renders getting leaked on Weibo and then a rumor indicating that the company may be officially launching the Oppo R9S on October 19 in China. Based on leaks and rumors, it is expected to be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 processor with 4 GB RAM and 64 GB internal storage. It features a 16 MP front shooter for great selfies with f/1.7 aperture and is backed by a 3010 mAh battery along with support for VOOC flash charge. TENAA also lists an Oppo model which we assume is R9S, though the battery capacity is different from those reported in leaks.

It appears that finally the launch is happening soon or is imminent, thanks to number of advertisements appearing in China including a video advertisement or the device first commercial. These ads also confirm the smartphone name as R9s apart from the build quality, looks and design.

The device commercial gives a clear look at the R9S smartphone and matches with some of the recent leaks.

The advertisements tag line when translated to english says “charge call two hours five minutes” & “full power, we take pictures of it to talk”  which basically puts emphasis on two key features of Oppo R9S i.e. the 16 MP front shooter for selfies and the Super VOOC charging support which gives two hours of call time just by charging the phone for five minutes.

Company is yet to announce an official launch date though, but we can be sure that it is going to happen soon. Stay tuned at Androidpure and we will keep you updated.
