The rumor mill around Xiaomi Mi Note 2 is spinning fast and with each passing day we have some rumor or leak about the next flagship from Xiaomi. Thanks to these leaks and rumors we already have seen alleged renders of Mi Note 2 and possible specifications of the device. Rumors also suggest that Xiaomi Mi Note 2 may come in two major variants, 1st being powered by Snapdragon 820 & 4 GB of RAM while the higher variant is powered by Snapdragon 821 & 6 GB of RAM. All these frequent leaks indicate imminent launch of the smartphone.
Today we have a new leak spotted on Weibo by Androidpure, which suggest that Mi Note may be launched on September 24, 2016. The leak comes in the form of a teaser for a launch event but with just in the form of number with 9.24 written on it (which is short form of 24th September) along with Xiaomi logo and the Mi Note 2 on top.
Even though the leak image reproduced above doesn’t reveal anything else except the date probably which we are assuming as the launch date even though 24 September falls on a Saturday which is quite odd for a launch event. Apart from this image, we have seen another rumor , spotted on weibo itself which talks about a confirmed launch date of 14th September instead of 24th September. To be honest we are not sure which one is right, but we are giving a bit more weightage to the leaked image of 24th than the other rumor.
This leak also reveals some additional hardware specifications of the device i.e. Mi note 2 features a 5.7 inch 2K display along with 13 MP dual camera at the back. Earlier rumors have suggested a 5.5 inch display instead of 5.7 inch display for the Mi Note 2. The existing Xiaomi Mi Note sports a 5.7 inch Full HD 1080p display powered by 2.5
