HTC One M9 announced: 5″ 1080p display, 20MP camera, Snapdragon 810 CPU, available mid-March

After loads of leaks and rumours, even one a few hours back, the HTC one M9 was finally unveiled at MWC 2015 today.

The M9 sports a 5 inch Super LCD3 display with 1080 resolution and is powered by 2 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor with 3 GB of RAM.

The phone features a 20 Megapixel camera with sapphire camera cover lens on the rear, with a Dual LED Flash, auto-focus, BSI sensor, f/2.2, 27.8mm lens, and supports 4K video recording. The front camera is an UltraPixel lens.

The phone has front facing HTC Boom Sound stereo speakers, with built-in amp and Dolby Audio.

The One M9 runs on Android 5.0 Lollipop with HTC Sense 7.0 UI, and comes with a new HTC Themes app, preloaded. The app allows the user to customize the UI and create your own themes. The camera app, HTC Eye Experience, allows you to create Split Captures, take Voice Selfies, apply Live Makeup and more. And the Zoe App lets you combine your photos and videos with your friends for footage from multiple points of view.

The M9 supports 2G/2.5G, 3G, and 4G LTE networks, in addition to NFC, Bluetooth 4.1, GPS + GLONASS, a 3.55mm stereo audio jack and micro USB.

The phone has a dual-tone all-metal body with mirrored edges offer an effortless grip. It looks very similar to the previous HTC One phones.

Compared to it’s predecessor, the HTC One M8, the  M9 sees major hardware upgrades for the Camera, RAM and Chipset,  i.e from 4 megapixels (UltraPixel) to 20 megapixels, 2GB to 3GB, and a Snapdragon 801 Quad-Core to Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 810 octa-core, respectively.

The HTC One M9 will be available from mid-March.
