Rumors about YU Yutopia were circulating on the web for quite some time. Many of us expected it to be launched along with Yu Yunique few months back, but it didn’t. Finally, we can put all the rumors to the rest as Yu has started sending out the invites to Media for a launch event on December 7th. We already received that invite and will be covering that launch as it happens.

YU Yutopia Launch

Update: Launch has been delayed to 17th December now. We just got the confirmation from YU about this delay, but reason behind this is not yet known.

.@YUplaygod Hold your excitement, as we plan to announce something special with YUTOPIA. The most powerful phone now launches on 17th Dec

YU has been teasing the device for last few months and even took jibe on OnePlus 2 often. The device was also allegedly leaked on Geekbench. Based on the leaks and the teasers by YU themselves, we expect Yutopia to feature QHD display along with 32 GB of internal storage with Micro SD card support and 4 GB of RAM. Apart from these, we expect it to be powered by Snapdragon 810 with quick charging support. In terms of the design and build quality, the teasers suggest metallic build of the device.

The device may be powered by the stock Android 5.1.1 and no Cyanogenmod as it happened with Yu Yunique.

YU has already started the registrations for the device and if you register, then it tells you that you are in QUEUE for the device which suggests something similar to invite system of OnePlus. We are still not sure about it, but it may happen.

Yutopia Invite

Stay tuned for more.
