XOLO launches Q500 with Quad core processor and X-TransPic App at Rs. 7,999

Smartphone market is yet to be tapped fully by the Manufacturers by fulfilling the needs of consumers in different budget segments. XOLO has launched Q500 to try to catch hold a percentage of entry level segment of smartphones in India. XOLO Q500 priced at Rs. 7,999 comes with good technical specifications considering the price.

XOLO Q500 is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 200 1.2 GHz quad core processor. I am yet to find a device powered by Quadcore processor in this price range even though its just Snapdragon 200 and not the snapdragon 400. In terms of display,  XOLO Q500 comes with a 4-inch WVGA display with OGS (One Glass Solution) with a pixel density of 233 PPI (pixels per inch) .

In terms of camera, it comes with a 5 MP AF rear main camera with LED flash and another VGA front camera which can be used for video conferencing or for IM clients like Skype.

  • X-TransPic App

It also comes with an X-TransPic  app by which just by simply pointing the camera at any poster or sign board, it will capture and recognize the embedded Hindi text and then allow users to translate Hindi words to English, or read out the detected text by using text to speech functionality.
