Xiaomi Mi 3 launched in India for Rs.14,999

Last week, Mi India had announced on Facebook that, they will be unveiling a device on July 8th.Xiaomi Mi 3 India LaunchAnd they have launched their popular smartphone, the Xiaomi Mi 3, in India.

The Mi 3 is a more advanced phone than the Red Note. The Mi 3 has a slightly smaller display at 5″, but it it is an LCD IPS Retina display which supports a resolution of 1920 x 1080, at a whopping 441 PPI. It is powered by a Quad-core 2.3GHz Krait 400 (Qualcomm Snapdragon 800) processor, has 2 GB of RAM, and an Adreno 330 GPU.

The phone sports a 13 Megapixel rear camera, which is made of a 5-piece lens with 28 mm wide angle, and an infrared filter, for more accurate true-to-life colours. It has a Phillips dual-LED flash for improved lighting. The front camera is a 2 Megapixel snapper with a 30mm wide-angle lens.

The Mi 3 will run on Android 4.3 JellyBean optimized with MIUI version 5. But you can expect a KitKat update in the future, as the company are involved in the development of MIUI ROM. They are currently beta testing a KitKat ROM for the Mi 3.

Other notable features include NFC, USB OTG, and something you rarely find on a phone, a Barometer. For a full list of the specifications refer to the table below.

The phone will be available for sale from July 15th, and has been priced at Rs. 14,999. You can check their official Indian website for registering for the sale.

At the time of writing this post, the link isn’t live yet. We will update this post when it is launched officially, later today. We expect it to be launched exclusively at Flipkart.
