Samsung has unveiled a new foldable device called the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold2. Here’s what you need to know about the successor of last year’s Galaxy Fold.
The Fold2 has dual displays with an improved hinge design. The cover screen is a 6.2-inches HD+ Super AMOLED display with a resolution of 2260 x 816 pixels, 25:9 aspect ratio, 386PPI.
The primary display when unfolded is a 7.6-inch QXGA+ Dynamic AMOLED display that has a resolution of 2208 x 1768 pixels, 22.5:18 aspect ratio, 120Hz refresh rate (adaptive), 373 PPI. The phone has an in-display fingerprint scanner and is made of Ultra Thin Glass, and the Hideaway Hinge can be used as a stand between 75 to 115°.
The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold2 runs on Android 10. It supports Split View for apps in Flex mode. The device is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 865+ octa-core processor, with 12GB of RAM. The foldable has 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage.
The Galazy Z Fold2 is backed by a 4,500 mAh dual battery that supports 25W fast charging (wired and wireless) and wireless PowerShare. The foldable device has a USB Type-C port. The handheld has dual selfie-cameras, one on the cover screen and one on the other side. Both lenses are identical and has a 10MP sensor with an f/2.2 f/1.8 aperture, 1.22µm pixel size and an 80° FOV.
The back panel on the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold2 has triple cameras comprising a 12MP ultra wide -angle f/2.2 aperture, 1.12µm pixel size, 123° FOV + 12MP wide-angle, 83° FOV, f/1.8 aperture, dual pixel autofocus, optical image stabilization, 1.8µm pixel size + 12MP telephoto lens, 2x optical zoom, 10x digital zoom, 1.0µm pixel size, f/2.4 aperture, OIS, 45° FOV LED Flash. The phone supports 5G mobile networks.

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold2 price
The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold2 price has been set at £1,799/€1,949/$1,999. It will be available in 40 markets including the US and Korea from September 18th. Pre-orders for the phone have begun in US and Europe.
The Fold 2 will be available in 2 colours: Mystic Black and Mystic Bronze in 21 markets. Samsung is offering customized hinge colours in certain markets: Metallic Silver, Metallic Gold, Metallic Red and Metallic Blue.
The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold2 Thom Browne Edition will cost £2,999/$3,299 will be available from September 25th. It includes the Galaxy Buds Live and Galaxy Watch 3.
