Waiting for Redmi Flagship powered by Snapdragon 855? Xiaomi VP clears the Air

We have been hearing rumours for quite some time about a Redmi Flagship device being in works, powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 processor. The rumours gained more steam after Xiaomi announced Redmi as a separate brand. Even though there is no official word about it, yet the rumours refuse to die. Today, Xiaomi Vice President Lu Weibing cleared a bit of confusion about the Snapdragon 855 powered Redmi Flagship, though the clarification is still vague and do not discard the possibility of future release.

Redmi Note 7 Pro tech specs

As per Lu Weibing clarification, Redmi is not going to launch a Snapdragon 855 powered Redmi Flagship in the near future and is focussed on Redmi 7 & Redmi 7 Pro production at the moment. They are focussed on selling at least 1 million units of the recently launched Redmi 7 & Redmi Note 7 Pro devices. The statement though doesn’t deny or discard the possibility of Snapdragon 855 powered Redmi Flagship device and may indeed get a release sometime later this year.
