Pixel Watch 5 Leaks Out of Google’s Own Health App

Google has spoiled its own launch again. The Pixel Watch 5 — a device Google has not announced — started appearing inside the Google Health app on 28 July as a device you can pair, roughly two weeks before the Made by Google event on 12 August where it is expected to be unveiled alongside the Pixel 11 series.

What is actually showing up in Google Health

Go to set up a new device connection in Google Health — the app Google rebranded from Fitbit earlier this year — and “Google Pixel Watch 5” now sits at the top of the device list. Droid Life independently confirmed the listing after it first surfaced on Reddit.

Nobody can actually complete the pairing, obviously, because the watch does not exist in anyone’s hands yet. The listing is also using a picture of the Pixel Watch 4, so it reveals nothing about the design. What it does confirm, in Google’s own shipping software rather than a leak, is that the Pixel Watch 5 is real and close.

Pixel Watch 5: what is confirmed and what is still rumour

Confirmed: Google has announced that its Made by Google event takes place on 12 August 2026, and the Pixel Watch 5 is expected there. The name is now confirmed by Google’s own app.

Still unconfirmed: everything else circulating about the watch is leak-tier and Google has said nothing about it. That includes:

  • Pricing: leaks point to $399 for the 41mm Wi-Fi/Bluetooth model and $429 for the 45mm, with LTE versions at $499 and $529. Google has not confirmed any of these figures, and given that Google has already confirmed a Pixel 11 price increase, treat them as a floor rather than a promise.
  • Chip: the Pixel Watch 5 is rumoured to reuse the same Snapdragon SW5100 as the Pixel Watch 4, rather than moving to the newer Snapdragon Wear platform Samsung used in the Galaxy Watch Ultra 2.
  • Memory and design: a bump to 3GB of RAM has been reported, with a design close to the Pixel Watch 4.

Why the Google Health angle is the part to watch

The Pixel Watch 5 is expected to be the first Pixel Watch to launch under the Google Health brand rather than Fitbit. That is not just a logo change for buyers. Health data is the single most sensitive category most people will ever hand a phone maker. If you are buying a Pixel Watch 5 on day one, the thing worth reading before the spec sheet is what Google Health’s data settings actually let you switch off — and which health features sit behind a paid tier. Google Health’s own Play Store listing is explicit that some features require a separate Google Health Premium subscription, including the Gemini-built Health Coach.

Google’s event runs on 12 August at 6PM ET, an evening slot rather than its usual midday keynote.
