OnePlus Nord with Snapdragon 765G, quad cameras, 30W fast charging officially announced

After several official leaks and teasers, the OnePlus Nord is finally official. The company returns to its roots to provide an affordable phone for users.

This is technically the brand’s second foray into the mid-range segment after the OnePlus X in 2015.

The phone runs on Android 10 with OxygenOS on top, and is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G processor. It has 6GB/8GB/12GB of RAM and 128GB/256GB of storage.

The OnePlus Nord sports a 6.44-inches dual punch-hole display with two selfie lenses in the top left corner. The screen is a 6.55-inches FullHD+ Super AMOLED panel, that supports a 90Hz Refresh Rate. It has an in-display fingerprint scanner. The selfie cameras consists of a 32MP Sony IMX616 with an f/2.45 aperture, 1/2.74″ sensor size, OIS and an 8MP 105° ultra wide-angle lens that has an f/2.45 aperture, 1/4″ sensor size

The rear panel design of the Nord is quite similar to the one used for the OnePlus 8 series, with a vertical camera bump to house the quad cameras. The setup comprises a 48MP Sony IMX586 primary lens with an f/1.75 aperture, 1/2″ sensor size, support for optical image stabilization, an 8MP 119° ultra wide-angle lens, with an  f/2.25 aperture, 1/4″ sensor size, a 5MP depth sensor with an f/2.4 aperture and a 2MP macro camera with an f/2.4 aperture, 1/6″ sensor size.

The device supports 4G VoLTE, 5G, NavIC, NFC, Bluetooth 5.11, Wi-Fi with 2 x 2 MIMO, among other options.

The phone is backed by a 4100 mAh battery, that supports 30W Warp Charge (Fast Charging) over a USB Type-C port. It can charge the battery from empty to 70% in just 30 mins. The OnePlus Nord does not have a 3.5mm headphone jack.

The OnePlus Nord price starts at Rs. 24,999 for the 6GB/64GB variant model that’s exclusive to India. The 8GB/128GB version is priced at Rs. 27,999 while the top end variant with 12GB/256GB costs Rs. 29,999. In comparison, the device has been priced at  £379 in the UK and E399 in Europe (about Rs. 35,999 and Rs. 34,000 respectively) for the 8GB/128GB models.
