HMD Global has announced the Nokia G43 5G in India. The affordable phone debuted a few months ago in the UK and Europe.
The smartphone sports a 6.56-inches HD+ LCD IPS screen that has a 1612 x 720 pixels resolution. The display supports 90Hz refresh rate, a 20:9 Aspect Ratio, 560 nits brightness. The Nokia G542 5G’s display is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3.
The mobile is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 480 Plus 5G octa-core processor, with an Adreno 619 GPU. The phone has 6 GB of RAM, and supports 5 GB of Virtual RAM. The device has 128GB of storage, and supports up to 1 TB of additional memory via a microSD card slot. The Nokia G542 5G runs on Android 13 out of the box. Nokia says it will support the phone with 2 Android OS upgrades (Android 14 and Android 15), and also deliver 3 years of monthly security updates.
The company has packed a 5000 mAh battery in the Nokia G42 5G, and it supports 20W fast charging via a USB Type-C port.
As the device’s name indicates, the Nokia G42 supports 5G and 4G LTE mobile networks, other connectivity options in the phone include support for WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac/ax, Bluetooth 5.1, GPS/AGPS, GLONASS, BDS, and Galileo.
The selfie lens on the Nokia G42 5G is an 8 megapixels camera, that supports Face Unlock. The rear camera array on the phone consists of triple lens with a 50 megapixels primary sensor that has an f/1.8 aperture, a 2 megapixels Depth Sensor, a 2 megapixels Macro Sensor, and an LED Flash.
The mobile’s audio department has a 3.5mm headphone jack, an FM radio, 2 microphones, a single speaker, and supports OZO Playback, OZO 3D Audio recording. The Nokia G42 5G weighs 193.8g, and measures 165 x 75.8 x 8.55 mm. Sensors on the phone include a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, an accelerometer, an ambient light sensor, an e-Compass, and a proximity sensor. The is rated IP 52 for dust and splash-resistance.
