HMD Global has launched the Nokia G42 5G in the UK and Europe. The mid-range phone is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 480 Plus 5G processor.
The mobile is equipped with a 6.56-inches HD+ LCD IPS panel. The screen supports a resolution of 1612 x 720 pixels, has a 90Hz refresh rate, a 20:9 Aspect Ratio, 560 nits brightness and is protected by a layer of Corning Gorilla Glass 3.
The Nokia G52 5G has an Adreno 619, 4 GB / 6 GB of RAM, and supports 2 GB or 5 GB of Virtual RAM. It has 128GB of onboard storage, which can be expanded up to 1 TB via a microSD card slot. The device runs on Android 13, and Nokia has promised to support it with 2 OS upgrades (Android 14 and Android 15), and by providing 3 years of monthly security updates.
The main camera array on the rear panel of the Nokia G42 5G consists of a 50 megapixels primary sensor with an f/1.8 aperture, a 2 megapixels Depth Sensor, a 2 megapixels Macro Sensor, and an LED Flash. The cameras support HDR, OZO 3D Audio recording, Night mode, Dark Vision, Tripod mode, AI portrait, and Personalized watermarks.
The selfie camera on the device is an 8 megapixels snapper. Nokia has packed a 5000 mAh battery in the phone, it supports 20W fast charging via a USB Type-C port. The smartphone supports Face Unlock via the front camera, and has a side-mounted fingerprint scanner for biometric authentication.
Connectivity-wise the Nokia G42 supports 5G and 4G LTE mobile networks, WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac/ax, Bluetooth 5.1, GPS/AGPS, GLONASS, BDS, and Galileo location services.
The mobile has a 3.5mm headphone jack, an FM radio, 2 microphones, a single speaker, and supports OZO Playback, OZO 3D Audio recording. The Nokia G42 5G measures 165 x 75.8 x 8.55 mm, and weighs 193.8g. It has an accelerometer, an ambient light sensor, an e-Compass, and a proximity sensor. The device has an IP 52 rating for dust and splash-resistance.

Nokia G42 5G price in UK and Europe
The Nokia G42 5G has been priced at 249€ in Europe and £199 in the UK for the 6 GB version. The device will launch in Q3 in India and is likely to cost around Rs. 20,000. HMD Global says that the Nokia G42 5G can be repaired by users with the proper tools.
