Modular LG G5 smartphone launched in India for Rs. 52,990

LG India has just launched its latest flagship in India. LG G5 considered as the first modular smartphone and is accompanied by companion devices like LG CAM Plus, LG 360 CAM and LG 360 VR. The smartphone was announced during the Mobile World Congress MWC 16 event in Barcelona in February this year.

G5 sports a full metal body with 5.3-inch QHD IPS Quantum display  with resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels and  a pixel density of 554 ppi (pixels per inch). It runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow and is powered by the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor along with 4 GB of LPDDR4 RAM, Adreno 530 GPU. It comes with 32 GB of internal storage along with support for expandable storage up to 2 TB with microSD card.

The phone has an always on display which uses just 0.8 of the battery per hour as it just uses 1/3rd of the screen’s space. It also has adaptive brightness to adjust to the light in the environment.

In terms of camera it comes with dual rear cameras, a 16 MP main rear camera (78-degree lens) and a 135 degrees wide-angle 8 megapixel lens with LED Flash and Laser auto focus. The LG G5 has an 8 MP front shooter. it comes with USB Type C port, and features a fingerprint scanner on the rear. The phone supports 4G LTE, 3G, 2G, Wi-Fi 802.11 a, b, g, n, ac, NFC and  Bluetooth 4.2.

It is backed by a 2800 mAh battery and supports Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0. The battery is swappable and can be removed by sliding the bottom of the phone out.

LG G5 is already available on Flipkart for a price of Rs. 52,990. AT the moment, we have no pricing details available for G5 companion devices like LG CAM Plus, LG 360 CAM and LG 360 VR. We will update you as and when we hear about it.
