Xiaomi has released a new OTA update for the Redmi K20, aka the Xiaomi Mi 9T. The company is labeling it the MIUI 11.0.3.0.QFJINXM update for Redmi K20.

What’s new in the MIUI 11.0.3.0.QFJINXM update for Redmi K20

The firmware version has been bumped from MIUI 11.0.2.0 to MIUI 11.0.3.0. It brings the March Security Patch from Google to the Redmi K20. It’s sad to see an older version of the Security patch being shipped, especially considering we are in mid-April. And that’s also the only thing that is mentioned in the change log.

The MIUI 11.0.3.0.QFJINXM update for Redmi K20 weighs about 485MB to download. Is the security patch all that’s included in this nearly 500MB update?

Miui 11.0.3.0 Update For Redmi K20 New Baseband

Upon closer inspection, we found that the baseband version has been updated from 4.4.c5-00036-00036 to 4.4.c5-00036-268634. The update is currently being seeded to users in India. It retains the Widevine DRM Level of L1

Xiaomi really needs to work on its update versioning pattern. The company had released a similarly named update, the MIUI 11.0.3.0.PFJIXM, last year, the only way to differentiate between the versions is by reading the last part, which started with the letter P as it was based on Android Pie, while the current one is based on Android 10 hence the Q in the name.
