Lenovo has scheduled a launch event on October 18 in China to announce a new smartphone Lenovo S5 Pro that we reported a few days ago and in fact, it marks a new S series of devices from Lenovo. The launch announcement comes from the company’s Vice President confirming the name of the device as S5 Pro.

It appears that the leaks we saw about Lenovo Z5 Pro may, in fact, be the Lenovo S5 Pro but again we avoid making an opinion before the official launch takes place. The teaser reveals two concentric circles on the front display which suggests probably the presence of dual cameras at front. If the rear panel features four cameras, then this makes it to a total of six cameras on the smartphone making it the first device to do so. We have already seen four cameras at rear with Samsung Galaxy A9 2018 that is going to be officially unveiled today.

Lenovo S5 Pro features 2X optical Zoom, Camera samples teased

Lenovo Z5 Pro was revealed by the company’s VP, Liu Jun at the Lenovo Tech World 2018 conference, in China and is expected to be a flagship premium device with premium hardware. The phone appears to be similar to what we reported earlier with a bezel-less display but having a slight chin. Just a week back, Lenovo teased an upcoming device with a rectangular array of four camera sensors arranged in the same way as Huawei Mate 20 Pro and it may be the same Lenovo Z5 Pro but we can’t confirm yet.

Lenovo S5 Pro Camera Samples

Today, the Company president has released some camera samples of Lenovo S5 Pro (and not the Z5 Pro) reveal two basic details i.e. 1st it confirms the name of the device as S5 Pro and 2nd, it reveals that Lenovo S5 Pro comes with Super 2X Optical Zoom. There are four camera samples in total, shot under different lighting conditions. The images look good yet we need more details about the camera before we can make an opinion on whether it is as good as some of the flagship devices. Full resolution images of these camera samples are available on Weibo on company’s VP Weibo account. Obviously, we have stopped believing anything that is released by Lenovo VP after the fiasco of Lenovo Z5.

At the moment, not much is available about the hardware specifications of the earlier leaked device though rumours indicate that Lenovo Z5 Pro (or perhaps the Lenovo S5 Pro) features an in-display fingerprint scanner. The phone is expected to be equipped with a massive 6.5-inch QHD+ display powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor along with 6GB/8GB of RAM.

The phone may be available in three storage variants: 64GB/128GB/256GB and backed by a 4,000 mAh battery. Early rumours suggested dual rear cameras comprising of 20MP and 16MP sensors, but after the teasing of four cameras by the company, this doesn’t appear credible. In terms of battery, the phone is expected to be backed by a 4,000 mAh battery.

As with any other leak, take this with a pinch of salt. Stay tuned at Androidpure and we will keep you updated.
