An iQOO Snapdragon 865 phone will be launched soon in India. The news comes from the company’s director, Gagan Arora.

A few days ago, a Twitter account claiming to be the official handle of IQOO India tweeted an image saying 5G is coming soon. It also had a link to a YouTube video channel that was also named after the company. The said channel had a video teaser for an IQOO device as well.

Soon after this, some reports emerged that the accounts in question were fake. Arora confirmed the same today by stating IQOO India does not have a Twitter, Facebook, Instagram or YouTube account yet.

Now coming back to the iQOO Snapdragon 865 phone, a user reached out to the brand’s Director on Twitter commenting that a Snapdragon processor with 4G would do better in India due to the lack of 5G availability in the Country.

Arora replied to the user saying that 2 variants of the phone will be launched, and one will be a 4G phone. He also mentioned that they would offer the best in class performance which suggests that the 4G version will likely use a flagship processor.

Since the Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 does not have a modem, we think that IQOO will likely opt for a Snapdragon 855+ chipset for the 4G variant of its upcoming device. The iQOO Neo does come to mind.

There is no launch date for the iQOO Snapdragon 865 phone yet, but it looks like it will be the first 5G device to debut in India.
