The Huawei Nova 5 series has been announced in China. Three devices namely, the Nova 5, Nova 5 Pro and Nova 5i were launched.

We had reported about most of the specs earlier thanks to some leaks. The Nova 5 is powered by a new octa-core chipset, the HiSilicon Kirin 810, with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of Storage.

The device is equipped with a 6.39-inch OLED display with a water-drop notch which houses a 32MP selfie camera. It also has an in-display fingerprint scanner. The phone runs on Android Pie with EMUI 9.1.1.

In the photography department, the Huawei Nova 5 series phones feature a Leica quad-camera setup that comprises of a 48MP primary camera with an f/1.8 aperture, a 16MP Ultra wide-angle lens with an f/2.2 aperture, a 2MP 4cm macro lens with an f/2.4 aperture, and a 2MP Depth sensor lens with an f/2.4 aperture, and an LED Flash. The lenses support Phase detect auto focus and continuous auto focus.

The only differences between the Nova 5 and the Pro, are that the Huawei Nova 5 Pro is powered by a Kirin 980 with 8GB of RAM and 128GB/256GB of Storage.

The Nova 5i is powered by a Kirin 710 processor, and has a 24MP primary camera with an 8MP ultrawide lens. The rest of the specs are similar to the other phones.

Sadly the Huawei Nova 5 series phones do not have a 3.5mm headphone jack. The Nova 5 is backed by a 3,500 mAh battery which supports 40W SuperCharge.
