Android 4.4.4 firmware updates could be headed to HTC devices, after a roadmap of the company’s plans were leaked.
Known HTC leaker “llabtoofer”, posted an image of the road map which shows the plans about the Android L update too.
The Google Play Editions of the HTC One M7 and M8 have already received the 4.4.4 update. While some devices may be skipping the Android 4.4.3 update, in favour of Android 4.4.4.
The HTC One M8 (Single and Dual SIM) and the One M7 (Single SIM) will receive Android 4.4.4 KitKat + Sense 6.0 UI in July-August. The HTC One Mini 2 and One E8 will receive it in August-September. All the above mentioned devices, are under evaluation for the Android L update, which may arrive in October-December.
The following devices will not be getting the Android 4.4.4 update, and are under evaluation for Android L.
- HTC One Dual M7 SIM
- One Max
- One Mini
- Butterfly S
- Desire 816
- and the Desire 610.
This also gives us a strong hint that Android L could be released by the end of July, or the beginning of August. I say this, because HTC had promised to roll out updates within 90 days of getting the sources for Android L from Google.
