As we reported yesterday, Google is going to re-brand its Nexus line up Marlin and Sailfish by naming it Google Pixel & Google Pixel XL and getting rid of Nexus name. We already have seen the leaked press renders of the HTC Sailfish aka Google Pixel, which feature the best leaked images of the device.

Today a new leak gives us some specific insight into the camera sensors of the Google Pixel or Sailfish. The leak /rumor comes from LlabTooFeR on twitter with good track record when it comes to leaks related to HTC. As per LlabTooFeR, HTC Nexus (S1) aka Sailfish aka Pixel will feature a 12 MP main camera with Sony IMX378 sensor and a 8 MP front shooter with Sony IMX179 sensor.

Both the front and main camera sensors for Pixel are same as that for Google Pixel too, which LlabTooFeR suggested through a tweet few hours earlier. His earlier tweet few hours earlier has predicted the same Sony sensors for front and main camera of Pixel XL. Summarizing both the tweets indicates that both smartphones from Google features a 12 MP main camera with Sony IMX378 sensor and a 8 MP front shooter with Sony IMX179 sensor. If you remember, Google launched two of its Nexus devices i.e. LG Nexus 5X and Huawei Nexus 6P with same Sony IMX278 sensor.

Androidpure expects  that both devices from Google will be identical except for the screen size, and probably the build materials i.e.with same hardware but different design in terms of material, probably metal/plastic.
