Galaxy S25 India Price Goes Up: Now as Much as ₹12,000 More Than in July

The Galaxy S25 costs more in India today than it did last month, and the evidence is on Samsung’s own storefront. Samsung India’s Galaxy S25 buy page currently sells the 12GB/256GB model at ₹84,999 and the 12GB/512GB at ₹1,04,999 — figures that match, to the rupee, a retailer circular doing the rounds today that lists variant-wise increases taking effect on 19 August 2026. Samsung has announced nothing.

What the Galaxy S25 costs in India right now

These are the selling prices on samsung.com/in as we checked them this evening, alongside the list price (MRP) Samsung prints next to each one:

  • 12GB + 128GB — ₹74,999 selling price, against a ₹74,999 list price (no discount shown)
  • 12GB + 256GB — ₹84,999 selling price, against a ₹94,999 list price
  • 12GB + 512GB — ₹1,04,999 selling price, against a ₹1,14,999 list price

Worth separating those two numbers, because Indian storefronts routinely blur them: the list price is the MRP Samsung quotes, and the selling price is what you actually pay at checkout. Samsung’s MRP figures have not moved. The selling prices have.

How much the Galaxy S25 price has actually gone up

We pulled an archived copy of the same Samsung India page from 11 July 2026 to see what it was charging six weeks ago. On that snapshot, the identical product configurations showed ₹69,999 for the 128GB model, ₹79,999 for the 256GB and ₹92,999 for the 512GB. Against today’s live page, that works out as:

  • 128GB — ₹69,999 to ₹74,999, up ₹5,000
  • 256GB — ₹79,999 to ₹84,999, up ₹5,000
  • 512GB — ₹92,999 to ₹1,04,999, up ₹12,000

The base 128GB model deserves a flag, because the leaked circular does not mention it at all — it lists only the 256GB and 512GB. Samsung’s own page, though, shows the entry model ₹5,000 higher than it was in July, and now with no discount at all against its list price. If you were planning to buy the cheapest Galaxy S25, that is the variant the paperwork is quietest about and the one your wallet notices anyway.

One number does not line up cleanly and we are not going to pretend it does. The circular gives the 256GB’s old price as ₹80,999, while Samsung’s own July snapshot says ₹79,999. Both cannot describe the same moment, and the likeliest explanation is that the circular’s baseline is a later, intermediate price rather than July’s. Treat the circular’s “+₹4,000” as its own arithmetic; the ₹5,000 gap between mid-July and today is what Samsung’s page itself documents.

Why a 19-month-old flagship is getting more expensive

Phones normally get cheaper as they age. This one is going the other way, and the reason is upstream: memory prices. DRAM and NAND contract pricing has climbed hard through 2026 as AI datacentre demand soaks up fabrication capacity, and it has been showing up in Indian retail all year — Xiaomi and Redmi raised India prices by up to ₹5,000 under the same pressure. The shape of this increase fits that explanation: the largest jump, ₹12,000, lands on the 512GB model, the one carrying the most flash.

What is missing is Samsung saying so. There is no press release, no note on the product page, no advance warning to anyone who had this phone on a shortlist — just different numbers on the same URL from one month to the next. A company is entitled to reprice its inventory. But a buyer who did their research in July, saved up, and came back in August finds the goalposts moved by as much as ₹12,000 with no explanation offered, and that silence is a choice Samsung made too.

What to do if you were about to buy one

Check the exact variant price at checkout rather than trusting a comparison site or a review written earlier this year — most of the Galaxy S25 pricing floating around online now describes a phone that no longer sells for that. Offline retailers may still be clearing stock bought in at the old landed cost, so a physical store is worth a call before you order online. And if you were eyeing the 512GB in particular, a ₹12,000 jump is large enough that the comparison against the rest of Samsung’s current range is worth redoing from scratch rather than carrying over a decision you made in July.

Samsung India has not commented publicly on the circular, and the company has not characterised the change as an increase — its site simply shows today’s figures. We will update this post if that changes.
