The mystery Google wearable that turned up in an FCC filing last month now has a name. Retail listings have leaked the device as the Fitbit Edge, complete with product images, a color lineup and a partial spec sheet. In September we covered that filing for model G8BL6, a screen-and-straps device with Bluetooth LE and GNSS but no Wi-Fi. Its e-label path matched the one used on the Pixel Watch, which pointed at Wear OS. The confidential photos in that filing were sealed until March 9, 2027. A retail leak has now beaten that date by five months.

Treat everything below as leak-tier. Two outlets now have material on the device, which is better than a single-source rumor. Neither has a company confirmation of the name, the specs, the price or the launch date.
What the Fitbit Edge looks like
The leaked images show a bulbous, oval display that reaches closer to the band’s edge than any previous Fitbit tracker. The default watch face is essentially a Pixel Watch face bent to fit that shape. It carries the time and date plus complications for heart rate, step count and starting a workout.
There is a band-removal mechanism at the top and bottom of the case. The sensor stack on the underside resembles the one on the Fitbit Air, which suggests the same magnetic charger. Metal strips run down both sides of the case, presumably the electrodes for an ECG reading. The three colors are Canyon, Obsidian and Olive, the same names Google used for the Pixel 11 Pro.
Specifications, split by who reported them
The two outlets do not agree on the full spec list, so we are keeping them separate rather than merging them into one sheet. From the Fitbit Edge comparison table 9to5Google obtained, which set the device against the Fitbit Air and the Pixel Watch 5:
- Connectivity: Bluetooth only, with no Wi-Fi — matching the FCC filing’s profile
- Notifications: supported, which closes a gap against the Fitbit Air
- Apps: listed as Google Maps, media and music controls, and Find My Phone
- Battery: up to 7 days
- Compatibility: Android and iOS
Android Headlines is the outlet whose leaked retail images this traces back to. It separately describes a handful of features that 9to5Google’s table excerpt does not mention. Nothing in that table corroborates them, so they rest on Android Headlines alone for now.
- GPS: on-board, alongside an altimeter for elevation tracking
- Activity tracking: automatic workout recognition
- Bands: interchangeable, using a pinch mechanism
- Controls: elongated buttons mounted on the side of the case
- Apps: described slightly differently, as Google Maps, YouTube Music and Find My Phone
Pricing and availability
No price or date has been announced. Android Headlines estimates $149 to $199 and guesses at an October 2026 launch, which would mean this month. That is the outlet’s own prediction rather than a figure from Google, so do not plan a purchase around it. As of October 5, no official statement on the Fitbit Edge has surfaced.
The band it lands in makes sense on paper. Android Headlines places the Edge between the $99 Fitbit Air and the Pixel Watch 5. The Fitbit Charge line, which the Edge appears to succeed, has been dormant since the $160 Charge 6 in 2023. A tracker at $199 would be a harder sell than one at $149, given no Wi-Fi and a short app list. The seven-day battery figure is the number most Charge owners will actually care about.
