We have heard rumors about ASUS Zenfone devices powered by Qualcomm processors instead of the existing Intel Atom ones for some time. ASUS just confirmed this by quietly unveiling the new ASUS Zenfone 2 models powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon processors. These new models or variants come with screen sizes of 5, 5.5 and 6-inches having Gorilla Glass 4 protected displays along with a new laser auto-focus system with cameras.
The new variants are as follows:
- ZenFone 2 ZE500KL – 5 inch , 720p Display
- ZenFone 2 ZE550KL – 5.5 inch, 720p Display
- Zenfone 2 ZE600KL – 6 inch, 720p Display
Both the 5 inch and 5.5 inch devices are powered by a Snapdragon 410 SOC with a RAM of 2 GB and 2/3 GB respectively, where as the 6 inch variant is powered by a Snapdragon 615 SOC with 2/3 GB RAM and 16GB/32GB of native storage with a 3000 mAh (5.5 inch and 6 inch variant) battery. All these variants come with same 13 MP/5 MP camera combo and run Android 5.0.2 Lollipop as the operating system.
