ASUS ROG Ally launched for Rs. 69,990 in India

The ASUS ROG Ally has been announced in India. Find out everything you need to know about the portable gaming console.

ASUS ROG Ally price in India

The ROG Ally is equipped with a 7-inches Full HD IPS display. The screen supports a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels, has a 16:9 aspect ratio, 120Hz Refresh rate, 100% sRGB. The panel is protected by Gorilla Glass Victus with DXC Coating, has a 7ms response time, and supports 500 nits brightness, AMD FreeSync Premium. The handheld computer runs on Windows 11 Home out of the box. It will support all PC games and apps that can run on a normal PC, including games from Steam, Epic Games, GOG, EA App, Ubisoft Connect. It has 16 GB of LPDDR5 RAM, with 6400MT/s dual channel. The device has a 512 GB SSD, which is a PCIe 4.0 NVMe M.2 drive.

ASUS ROG Ally

The device packs a battery that has a 40WHrs rating. It charges via a USB Type-C port, and supports 65W fast charging. ASUS says that the ROG Ally supports up to 2 hours of heavy gaming, or up to 6.8 hours of Netflix and YouTube video streaming.

ASUS ROG Ally design

ASUS has released two versions of the gaming console. The basic version of the ROG Ally is powered by an AMD Ryzen Z1 CPU built on a 4nm process, has 6 cores, 12 threads. It supports 22MB Total Cache, up to 4.90 GHz boost. The higher-end version has a AMD Ryzen Z1 Extreme processor with 8 cores, 16 threads, 24MB Total Cache, and up to 5.10 GHz boost.

The Z1 version of the ROG Ally has an AMD Radeon Graphics GPU with AMD RDNA 3, 4 CUs, up to 2.5GHz, and up to 2.8 Teraflops. The Z1 extreme version has an AMD Radeon Graphics AMD RDNA 3, 12 CUs, up to 2.7GHz, and supports up to 8.6 Teraflops.

ASUS ROG Ally buttons and ports

The console has an ROG XG Mobile Interface and a USB Type-C combo port that supports USB 3.2 Gen2, and DisplayPort 1.4). The ROG Ally supports a microSD card for expandable storage. As for the buttons, the gaming device has a standard layout of A B X Y buttons, a D-pad, L & R analog triggers, L & R bumpers. It also has a View button, Menu button, Command Center button, Armoury Crate button, and 2 assignable grip buttons. The ROG Ally has two full-sized analog thumbsticks.

Connectivity options on the gaming device include support for Wi-Fi 6E 802.11ax Triple band, 2 x 2 and Bluetooth 5.2.  Audio-wise, the ASUS ROG Ally has a 3.5mm headphone jack, a built-in array microphone, 2-speaker system with Smart Amplifier Technology, AI noise-canceling technology, Dolby Atmos, and Hi-Res Audio.

The device has a built-in fingerprint scanner and a Microsoft Pluton security processor. The ASUS ROG Ally has a HD haptics sensor, and a 6-Axis IMU Gyroscope. The gaming console weighs 608g, and measures 2.0 x 111 x 21.2 ~ 32.4 mm.

What are the differences between the ASUS ROG Ally Z1 and Z1 Extreme versions?

The only differences between the two models of the ASUS ROG Ally are the processor and the graphics card, which we have explained above.

ASUS ROG Ally price in India

The ASUS ROG Ally Z1 Extreme version has been priced at Rs. 69,990 in India. Buyers can get the console via an early sale on July 7th from Flipkart. The portable gaming device will be available for purchase from July 12th on Flipkart, ASUS e-store, and ASUS retail stores.

Considering that the Nintendo Switch and Steam Deck are not available officially in India, the ASUS ROG Ally is an excellent option for playing games on the go.
