The ASUS 6Z has just been launched in India. The phone which debuted globally as the Zenfone 6, will have to settle for the ASUS 6Z moniker in the country, because of some legal issues.
Let’s take a quick recap of the device’s specs. The ASUS 6Z sports a notch-less 6.4-inch Full HD+ display which has a 19.5:9 aspect ratio, and a 92% screen to body ratio thanks to narrow bezels.
The device runs on Android 9 Pie with ZenUI which has some additional features like Call Recording, Twin Apps, FM Radio, Outdoor Mode, and Applock based on Face Unlock and Fingerprint Recognition. ASUS has promised a minimum of 2 Android OS upgrades, i.e, Android Q and Android R, for the phone.
The flagship device is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 processor, with 6GB and 8GB of RAM. It will be available in 64GB/128GB/256GB storage variants.
The ASUS 6Z is equipped with motorized dual flip cameras, which rotate over to the front when you want to take selfies. Thanks to the motor and the camera app’s fine controls, you will be able to manually adjust the angle of the cameras.
The primary camera on the ASUS 6Z is a 48MP Sony IMX 586 sensor which has 1.6µm Pixel Size, supports Phase Detect Auto Focus, Laser auto-focus and a 13MP secondary camera with a 125° Ultra-Wide angle lens, and an LED Flash,. The cameras support Electronic Image Stabilization, and are capable of recording 4K video @ 60fps.
The ASUS 6Z is backed by a 5000mAh battery, which supports Quick Charge 4 over a USB Type-C port. The phone houses a fingerprint sensor on the back panel.
The ASUS 6Z supports Camera2API and Widevine L1 out of the box. It has a notification LED, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and even a dedicated microSD card slot which is part of a triple card tray.

ASUS 6Z price in India
The ASUS 6Z price starts at Rs. 31,999 in India, for the 6GB RAM variant with 64GB of storage. The 6GB/128GB version will be sold for Rs. 34,999, while the 8GB/256GB variant will retail for Rs. 39,999. The ASUS 6Z will be sold exclusively via Flipkart, from June 26th.
