The game has several modes or events such as, Race, Hot Lap, Elimination, and Freestyle. You earn XP and in game cash which can be used to customize your rider and your vehicle. Riptide GP 2 has 25 stunts, more than what the first one had. There are 9 new hydro jets, which you can upgrade with the in game currency and also customize your ride (& the rider) with different colours.
Riptide GP 2 also features a multiplayer mode where you can compete in a 4 player race with gamers across the globe.
