Verizon has emailed some iPhone Duo pre-order customers to apologize for an unexpected shipping delay, according to MacRumors. Affected buyers will get a $100 Verizon gift card. Some orders first quoted for October 23 now show delivery dates between October 31 and November 14.

The email, which a customer shared with MacRumors, says some iPhone Duo deliveries will arrive later than first promised. Verizon also tried to reassure buyers that their orders still stand. In the email, as quoted by MacRumors, Verizon told customers:
Your order is secure, your place in line hasn’t changed, and our team is actively tracking your shipment to get it to you as quickly as possible
How long the Verizon iPhone Duo delay runs
One MacRumors reader pre-ordered the iPhone Duo from Verizon on Friday, October 16. Verizon first quoted delivery for Friday, October 23. That estimate later moved to Saturday, November 7.
Other revised dates shared on the MacRumors Forums, Reddit and social media mostly fall between October 31 and November 14. That is a wait of up to about three weeks past the original date. Not every order slipped, though. Some Verizon pre-order customers did receive the phone on October 23.
You can check your own order on the My Orders page in the My Verizon website or app.
What the $100 Verizon gift card actually gets you
Verizon said affected customers will get a separate email about the $100 gift card next week, the week of October 26. As of October 25, Verizon hasn’t announced a separate claim step, The Mac Observer notes. For now, watch your inbox rather than hunting for a form.
According to MacRumors, the card can be used online or in stores toward Verizon bill payments or merchandise. That makes it store credit, not cash or a refund. Its value depends on you continuing to pay Verizon or buying something from it. Buyers who chose Verizon for a launch-day phone now face a wait of up to three weeks instead.
iPhone Duo stock is tight beyond Verizon
Verizon’s delay comes as iPhone Duo supply looks tight across the board. Apple’s own online store had already pushed estimates for new orders to late January 2027. Apple also caps iPhone Duo orders at two per customer. On launch day, US walk-in availability was limited as well.
If your Verizon order has slipped, the original pre-order still holds your place, per Verizon’s email. The gift card email is the next thing to watch for.
